(Photo by Maja Hitij/Getty Images)Nikolas Nartey could be heading back to FC Kln, with the club reportedly weighing up a move for the midfielder once his contract with VfB Stuttgart expires at the end of the season. The 25-year-old, once a rising talent at Klns youth academy after arriving from Copenhagen in 2017, made only a few first-team appearances before joining Stuttgart in 2019. Unfortunately, his progress was hampered by repeated injuries, sidelining him for almost the entire 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns. The Danish-Ghanaian midfielder has recently shown signs of recovery, featuring for Stuttgarts U23 team and playing 75 minutes in a 1-0 win over Dortmund II, a positive step in his return to fitness. While Nartey is being talked about at Kln, reports from Express suggest hes not a top target yet. However, if FC Kln fails to secure Bundesliga promotion, the idea of signing the versatile midfielder on a free transfer might become more attractive especially for the clubs planned regional league rebuild.Much will hinge on Narteys fitness and FC Klns transfer strategy this summer.
