The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Mr. Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, has been promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police (COP) and reassigned to head the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB), the unit tasked with enforcing discipline, integrity, and ethical conduct within the Ghana Police Service.

His appointment to lead this sensitive and critical unit comes as no surprise to many who have followed his steady rise through the ranks, marked by integrity, excellence, and a results-driven approach to law enforcement.

COP Teye-Cudjoe brings with him a wealth of experience. Before his transfer to the Ashanti Region in February 2025, he was the Regional Police Commander, for the newly created Central North Region where he led several proactive policing initiatives that improved community safety and enhanced public trust in the service.

During his relatively brief but impactful tenure in the Ashanti Region, COP Teye-Cudjoe implemented significant reforms aimed at strengthening law and order. Chief among them was the establishment of the region’s first-ever Anti-Landguard Secretariat, a bold and strategic move to curb the menace of landguard activities, a long-standing source of violence and insecurity in parts of the region.

His tenure also witnessed enhanced collaboration between the police and local stakeholders, resulting in a more robust and responsive security system.

His promotion to COP is widely regarded as a recognition of his professional excellence, unwavering dedication to duty, and distinguished contributions to policing in Ghana. It also affirms the confidence reposed in him by the Police Administration and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

Beyond his law enforcement credentials, COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe is a multi-disciplinary professional. He is not only a seasoned police officer and a trained lawyer but also an accomplished architect.
