Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu sees a bright season ahead for Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the upcoming Ghana Premier League.

The two giants, boasting a combined 46 league titles, struggled last season, finishing outside the top five.

But after witnessing their showdown in the Democracy Cup on July 17, where Kotoko edged out Hearts 2-1, Badu feels optimistic about their prospects.

Badu’s comments highlight the potential for an exciting Ghana Premier League season.

“For the past two years, I can say this is the first time I can say I have witnessed a great game [between] Hearts and Kotoko,” He told JoySports.

“The ball was on the ground, inter-positional changes, good possession, composure and it was very nice. I think both of them can build on this and have a formidable squad.

“Both teams can build on this so that this year, the league will be very exciting.”

Both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak aim to capitalize on their recent performances to rebuild and challenge for the title.

The Ghana Premier League begins on September 6, with fixtures yet to be announced.
