Popular Ghanaian entertainment journalist and media consultant Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has thrown his full support behind multiple award-winning gospel musician Diana Antwi Hamilton ahead of the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards, insisting that she deserves recognition in every category she qualifies for.
Speaking in a conversation with Nii Noi on Hitz FM’s Hitz Praise Zone, Arnold stated emphatically that the “Adom” hitmaker merits nomination in the prestigious Artiste of the Year category, considering the work she put in during the year under review, 2025.
When asked whether Diana Hamilton truly deserves a spot in the ultimate category, Arnold responded that while many gospel musicians worked hard within the year, some clearly went above and beyond, and Diana stands out among them.
“Every category she is supposed to be in, she has to be in. Shoutout to every gospel artiste that put in the work. However, some put in more efforts than others and the evidence is clear that the year under review, the honourable and distinguished Lady Diana Hamilton was all over the place,” he said.
The showbiz critic pointed to her consistency and visibility throughout 2025, highlighting her annual Awake Experience worship concert, which was successfully hosted across three major Ghanaian cities Accra, Kumasi, and Sunyani as well as in Maryland in the United States. Beyond that, he noted that she performed at numerous events and gospel programs both locally and internationally.
According to him, Diana Hamilton meets all the key criteria required for nomination in the Artiste of the Year category, including having a hit song and a successful album during the year under review. He stressed that she “ticks every box” needed for qualification.
Arnold further revealed that he feels uncomfortable whenever discussions about hardworking musicians in Ghana exclude Diana’s name.
“When people mention names of hardworking artistes and omit Diana Hamilton, I feel uncomfortable,” he stated, emphasizing her dominance and relentless efforts within the gospel music space.
He argued that beyond Artiste of the Year, Diana Hamilton equally deserves nominations in Gospel Artiste of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, and even Songwriter of the Year, a category he believes is often overlooked when it comes to gospel musicians.
“One of the most brilliant pen games in gospel music belongs to Diana Hamilton. It’s time we zoom in on her pen game,” he added.
