Doja Cat’s family drama took a wild and X-rated turn over the weekend.
While Doja claims her dad is a deadbeat who essentially abandoned her, her father counters that he never left her and accuses her mother of manipulating her into thinking he’s a bad person.
In a series of videos, Doja’s father, Dumisani Dlamini, expressed his frustration about their strained relationship, stating he loves his children and helped provide for them during their upbringing.

Dlamini asserts that after Doja’s fame surged, her mother started damaging his reputation and convinced Doja he abandoned her—something he strongly denies.
His comments came after Doja posted a video titled “Deadbeat Chronicles,” where she humorously revealed trolling her dad by sending him gay porn links instead of tickets to her Tour Ma Vie show in South Africa, where Dlamini lives. Dlamini, visibly upset, responded, saying, “[Doja] played the cards because of the influence of her mother. She came to South Africa, had the chance to see me, and faked it. What I want to say to you all is, I’m sorry if I ever touched anyone’s nerves. I’m a man of integrity, respect, and love.”
Although Doja has publicly recognized her father’s talent as a South African actor and dancer, she has stated she didn’t know him well growing up, and they are not close.
