Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC will temporarily move to New Town Park as their home venue due to the unexpected closure of the Accra Sports Stadium, per a Joy Sports report.
The National Sports Authority (NSA) announced the closure on Monday without prior notice to the club, which, along with two other Premier League teams, calls the stadium home.
Dreams FC received no official communication from the NSA about the closure. Instead, the Ghana Football Association directed them to find an alternative venue for their upcoming match against Kpando Heart of Lions.
The club’s usual backup, the Tuba artificial pitch, is not yet ready to host a Premier League game, necessitating the search for a new location.
Consequently, Dreams FC will face Heart of Lions at New Town Park, currently used by debutants Vision FC.
This venue has been approved by the club licensing board and has previously hosted a Premier League match, including Vision FC’s opener against Berekum Chelsea. Dreams FC is scheduled to host Nations FC at Tuba on October 4, 2024.
