Former Premier League side Ebusua Dwarfs have strengthened their bid for a return to the Ghana Premier League after reclaiming top spot in Zone Two despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Nsuopun Fidelity FC at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast.
Godwin Eshun handed Dwarfs an early advantage with a 12th-minute strike, igniting hopes of another vital home victory. However, Jacob Manso struck late to deny the hosts all three points. The result nevertheless extended Dwarfs’ unbeaten run to seven matches, with five wins and two draws, underlining their growing momentum in the promotion race.
The Cape Coast-based side now sit on 37 points from 19 matches, edging ahead of FC AshantiGold on goal difference. AshantiGold slipped to second following a 1-0 defeat to Sekondi XI Wise at Gyandu Park.
With Sefwi All Stars also closing in on 35 points after their latest win, the promotion battle remains tight. But Dwarfs’ consistency and resilience keep them firmly on course as they push for a long-awaited return to top-flight football.
