Governance analyst and development expert Dr. Benjamin Otchere Ankrah is surprised by the number of aspirants interested in contesting this year’s election.

39 aspirants have so far picked up codes to download the presidential forms to take part in the 2024 elections.

This includes 12 registered political parties and 27 individuals who are contesting as independent candidates.

Speaking in reaction on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Dr Otchere Ankrah said: “They should advise themselves. Some of them know they won’t qualify yet. It’s not easy to become a President. The presidency is not child’s play. It’s not like selling koko, so they should take it easy. The Electoral Commission should be thorough. You can imagine the length of the ballot paper if all of them qualify…Are we serious?
