In a shocking revelation, Joseph Yamin, the National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), claimed that the party intercepted approximately 500,000 ballot papers and booklets in Kwadaso, Ashanti Region, on December 7, 2024. The materials were discovered near the Kwadaso SDA Hospital, in a private residence.
Yamin explained that the NDC had received intelligence about the hidden ballots and had been tracking them for some time. During a live broadcast on Facebook, he displayed several packages containing the suspected ballot papers and confirmed that the police had seized the materials for further investigation.
Yamin revealed that when he confronted the occupants of the house where the materials were found, they denied knowing anything about them. He stated, “There were some ladies in the house, and one of them has been asked to accompany the materials to the police station. When we confronted them, they said they knew nothing about it and were surprised those items were there.”
The NDC organizer further mentioned that the party had been monitoring the situation since December 6, 2024, when they first received the intelligence. The police have now taken possession of the ballots, and Yamin confirmed that the materials were being transported to the regional police headquarters for further investigation.
Yamin also spoke to the mother of the women living in the house, who confirmed they owned the property but claimed to have no knowledge of how the materials ended up there. The house was reportedly being used as a guest house, with the women living there.
Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s National Communications Officer, has since warned that the party will resist any attempts by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rig the 2024 elections. This revelation adds to growing concerns over the integrity of the election process, amid reports of ballot stuffing, double voting, and violence in several constituencies across the country.
