Ghana Premier League side, Elmina Sharks, have announced some unnamed players in their squad have tested positive for COVID-19 in their latest round of testing.

The club said the said players have since been isolated and are responding to treatment.

Media reports have suggested up to nine players have tested positive for the virus.

The Fearsome Sharks took to their official twitter handle to put out the information and look forward to them rejoining the team.

“We can confirm that some of our players have tested positive for COVID-19. They have since been isolated & responding to treatment.

“We wish them well & look forward to them joining us stronger.”

Yesterday, the Ghana Football Association has announced the fixture between Aduana Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak has been called off, because the Phobians needed to undergo further CIVID-19 test.

Elmina Sharks will host regional rivals, Ebusua Dwarfs, at the Cape Coast Stadium tomorrow, in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League opener.
