In the world of football especially Women’s Football in Ghana, where the spotlight often shines brightest on the players and coaches, there are unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth functioning of teams and the well-being of athletes. One such individual is Aicha Amoako Denteh, the team and welfare manager of Berry Ladies Football and Ghana Black Princesses.
Aicha Amoako Denteh’s journey in football began long before she assumed her current roles. Growing up in Akim Oda, Ghana, she developed a deep passion for the sport, fueled by the performances of her country’s female national teams and female clubs. This passion led her to pursue HND in Bilingual office Management from Alliance Française, where she honed her skills and laid the foundation for her future career.
After graduating, Aicha wasted no time in immersing herself in the world of Women’s Football. Her journey took her from being a liaison officer to Kumasi Asante Kotoko, part of CAF Officials and an announcer in the WAFU ZONE B tournament to becoming the welfare manager of Berry Ladies FC, where she made a significant impact on and off the field. Aicha’s genuine care for the players and her commitment to their well-being earned her the trust and respect of everyone at the club.
In her role as welfare manager, Aicha A. Denteh with the management team implemented various initiatives aimed at supporting the players’ holistic development, recognizing that their success on the field was closely linked to their overall well-being. Her efforts did not go unnoticed, and she soon rose to the position of team and welfare manager, making history as the first female to hold such two roles at Berry Ladies FC.
Aicha’s influence extended beyond the confines of the club, as she was appointed as the welfare manager for the Ghana Black Princesses, the under-20 national women’s football team in December 2022. In this capacity, she continues to make a difference, ensuring that the players receive the necessary support and guidance as they represent their country on the international stage. During her time as the Ghana Black Princesses Team and Welfare Manager, together with the team swept a brace of a host and win tournament at WAFU Zone B under 20 Girls Championship in 2023, qualified to The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup that will take place in Colombia on 31 August 2024 and Champions of the 13th All African Games Women’s Tournament (Gold Medalists) held in Ghana.
