Gospel musician Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye has officially closed her defamation lawsuits against self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, following an amicable settlement in which GH¢100,000 was paid.

According to Nana Agradaa’s lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, the settlement was finalised on January 20, 2026, and adopted as Consent Judgments by both the Tema Land Court and the Tema Main Court, formally concluding the two cases originally filed in May and June 2025.

Empress Gifty had sued Agradaa over a series of social media posts she described as defamatory and harmful to her reputation. The singer initially sought GH¢40 million in damages, a perpetual injunction against further defamatory publications, removal of the offending content from social media, and full legal costs.

However, the matter was resolved through negotiations, avoiding a full trial. Under the terms of the agreement, Nana Agradaa paid GH¢100,000 to Empress Gifty to cover legal fees and associated expenses. She also publicly retracted her statements, issued an apology, and requested the National Information Technology Authority (NITA) to remove the disputed posts from social media platforms.

Mr. Asare Baffour confirmed that all settlement conditions have been fulfilled. The GH¢100,000 has been paid in full, and the public apology has been issued as agreed.

With the adoption of the Consent Judgments, Empress Gifty has officially withdrawn all claims arising from the lawsuits, bringing the matter to a close.
