
Swedish Allsvenskan newcomers Kalmar FF have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of English-born Ghanaian winger Charles Sagoe Jr on loan from Arsenal for the entire 2026 season.The Smaland-based club confirmed the deal on Tuesday as they continue preparations for their return to Swedens top flight.Sagoe Jr arrives with high expectations, having developed through the ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal.Kalmar sporting director Mats Winblad expressed his delight at securing the talented wide man.Great that he is finally in place. Charles is a player we have followed for a long time. He is very athletic, has really good speed and likes to drive the ball at high speed and challenge his opponent. Now he is stepping into training and hopefully we will see him already on Saturday against IFK Norrkping, Winblad said via the clubs official website.Sagoe Jr also shared his excitement about the move.It feels great to be here and Im really excited to get started, train and get to know my new teammates. Im looking forward to showing my qualities on the pitch and helping to win matches. This is a good step for me and my continued career, he said.The 21-year-old joined Arsenal in 2015 at the age of 11 after spells with FC Target and Fulhams academy.He has scored 24 goals and provided 21 assists in 96 appearances across Arsenals U18 and U21 sides.Sagoe Jr made his senior debut for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup against Brentford in 2024 and has since gained valuable experience on loan at Swansea City and Shrewsbury Town in the Championship and League One respectively.Kalmar will hope the dynamic winger can make an immediate impact as they aim to consolidate their place in the Allsvenskan.
