Toulouse midfielder Abu Francis has criticized the medias rush to rule him out of the 2026 World Cup, stating that pundits and fans “acted like doctors” immediately after he suffered a severe leg injury.The Ghana international expressed his amusement at the speculative reports that suggested his career or tournament hopes were over before he had even left the operating table.Francis sustained a double fracture of the tibia and fibula during a match against Japan in November 2025.While external reports painted a bleak picture of his recovery timeline, the midfielder revealed that his medical team provided a far more optimistic outlook.”Everyone wants to act like they are doctors or they are surgeons,” Francis said. “But straight after the surgery, the surgeon told me it was possible. Two different doctors told me it was possible.
