Ampem Darkoa and Hasaacas Ladies went into the day’s games looking for back to back victories to cement their place in the next round of the competition and it was the former who made light work of Berry Ladies in the first game of the day.
Forward Mary Amponsah opened the scoring for Ampem Darkoa Ladies with a beautiful strike in the 12 minute and doubled the lead in the 32nd minute with an astonishing strike from her magical right foot.
After recess, Berry Ladies mounted pressure on Ampem Darkoa Ladies and pulled one back in the 73rd minute through a spot kick but that wasnt enough as Ampem Darkoa Ladies held on to win the contest 2:1.
Match 2: Faith Ladies vs Northern Ladies
Faith Ladies stunned Northern Ladies 1-0 to record their first victory in the competition. Both teams displayed a good performance in the early stages but Northern Ladies looked the better side in the first half. The Northern giants got punished in the 81st minute after failing to take their chances. A goalkeeping howler from Afi Amenyeku saw Julian Vuvor make no mistake in converting to give Faith Ladies the deserved win.
Match 3: Hasaacas Ladies vs Supreme Ladies
Hasaacas Ladies thrash Supreme Ladies 6:0 to pick up their second consecutive win of the tournament. Supreme Ladies proved no match for the former champions with Mercy Attobrah scoring the opening goal in the first minute. After recess, Dreamz Ladies surged forward looking for the lead which eventually came in the 50th minute through a Rose Boakyewaa perfectly executed free kick into the top right corner. Yaa Abrafi scored her brace before Skipper, Stella Nyamekye scored a brace to end the game 5:1 in favour of Dreamz Ladies.
