Award-winning Ghanaian artiste Stonebwoy has voiced concern over what he describes as favouritism in the selection of artistes for government-organised events.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen with host Osei Bonsu, the BHIM Nation president revealed he was excluded from a recent high-profile national event, only finding out about it on the day it happened, despite being available in the country.
“Recently, there was an event where, if we all came together, it could’ve been great. But I only got to know about it on the day of the event—after I personally called the minister,” Stonebwoy said.
The celebrated dancehall star added that such exclusion reflects a larger issue of partisan or personal bias, which undermines national unity and growth in the creative space.
“When favouritism comes in, it doesn’t show patriotism. Where I want to take the country, I think we haven’t seen it yet,” he added.
Stonebwoy’s remarks have reignited conversations around transparency and inclusiveness in national representation, especially within Ghana’s entertainment and creative industries.
