Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex 1996, have been drawn against Cameroonian side Victoria United FC in the preliminary round of the 2024-25 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
The Timber giants will travel to Limbe, Cameroon, for the first leg tie before hosting their opponents in the reverse fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Founded in 2002, Victoria United FC, is one the rising forces of Cameroonian football and will prove a formidable opponents for the Ghanaian champions.
This marks FC Samartex’ maiden appearance in the competition, following their historic Ghana Premier League title win in the 2023-24 season.
The draw ceremony was held at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, on July 11, 2024.
The preliminary round is scheduled for August, with the winner advancing to face either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic in the second round in September.
