FC Savannah were big winners on Matchday one of the GFA regional Women’s championship at the Kurt E.S Okraku Technical centre in Winkongo.
FC Savannah defeated Fabulous Ladies 5:1 in the first game of the championship in Saturday.
Sakina Abdul Hanan scored first after pouncing on a lose ball to give her side the lead in the 5th minute.
Sakina extended the lead for FC Savannah in the 14th minute as she got on the end of a beautiful team play to fire home the second goal.
Sakina later grabbed her hat to give her side a 3:0 lead.
After recess, Safia Abdul Rahman added to the tally after she fired one into the top right corner to give her side a 4:0 lead.
Asana Ibrahim scored from the spot to take the game beyond Fabulous Ladies before Miracle Addai scored a consolation goal for Fabulous Ladies as the game ended 5:1 in favor of FC Savannah.
In the second game, Candy Soccer Academy defeated Bolga All stars Ladies 2:1. A brace from Benedicta Amponsah was enough to secure Candy Soccer Academy the maximum points despite Ajegipina Zakaria pulling one back for Bolga All stars Ladies.
Finally, Sung Shinning Ladies put up an impressive performance to win 2:0 against Nasara Ladies. Gladys Salifu scored the opening goal at the stroke of half time before Manasseh Junior scored in the 93rd minute for Sung Shinning Ladies.
