Pure FM, one of Kumasi’s leading radio stations, was struck by a devastating fire on the night of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, leaving its studio equipment completely destroyed and forcing the station off-air.

Authorities have confirmed that no injuries were recorded during the incident. Firefighters responded swiftly to contain the blaze, which tore through the station’s facilities. Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, investigations are expected to commence soon.

Kwame Adinkra, host of the station’s popular morning show, took to Facebook shortly after the incident to share his firsthand experience:

“I’m completely exhausted. We’ve just spent over three intense hours battling the fire that broke out at Pure FM studios. Thankfully, we managed to save the building, but we lost all our studio equipment. We’ll be off air temporarily, but we shall rise again!”

The fire has left the station’s vibrant listenership in shock, with many taking to social media to express support and solidarity with the Pure FM team.

As management assesses the full extent of the damage, efforts are underway to restore operations and bring the station back on air in the shortest time possible.
