Fifteen Private Tertiary institutions across Ghana have come together to form an Association.
The Association will be known and called Private University Owners and Founders Association of Ghana.
The Association, according to the Conveners, is to bring all Private Tertiary institutions under one umbrella so as speak with a common voice as well as to champion the interest of Private Tertiary institutions in Ghana.
The following are some of the private tertiary institutions which have come together to form the a Association:
Regent University College of Science and Technology, All Nations University, Wisconsin International University College, Kings University College, and Garden City University College.
The rest are the Data Link Institute of Business and Technology, Jackson Education Complex, Noble International Business School, MountCrest University Collage, and Spiritan University Collage.
The agreement for the formation of the Association was reached at its maiden meeting held at the North Legon Campus of Wisconsin International University Collage, Ghana on Friday, January 13, 2023.
Addressing the media after the formal formation of the Association, the Convenor of the group and founder of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Dr. Paul Kofi Fynn told the press that the formation of the Association was long overdue.
He explained that the formation of the Association should have been done in the year 2000, when the green light was given by the then President, Mr John Agyekum Kufour.
According to him the formation of the Association has become more critical than before.
“We are of the hope that coming together to have one common platform (Association), will help influence the formulation and implementation of government policies concerning the provision of tertiary education in Ghana positively.
