French President Emmanuel Macron has extended his heartfelt condolences to the people of Ghana following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Ghana’s Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and several other high-ranking government officials.
In a message shared via his official Instagram account, President Macron expressed solidarity with the Government of Ghana and the families affected by the devastating incident.
“Our thoughts are with the People of Ghana following the tragic loss of the Minister for defence, the Minister of the Environment, and other passengers in the terrible Helicopter accident yesterday”
We extend our full support to their families and loved ones” Macron stated.
The Defence Minister and seven other officials were aboard a Ghana Air Force helicopter en route to Obuasi when the aircraft tragically crashed. Their remains have since been airlifted to Accra, and the nation continues to mourn the loss of these dedicated public servants.
Macron’s message adds to a growing list of international condolences, reflecting the global significance of the tragedy and the respected roles the victims played in regional governance and diplomacy.
