More details have surfaced regarding the separation between Ghanaian media personality Afua Asantewaa Owusu Aduonum and her husband, Kofi Owusu Aduonum, following claims made by a close friend.
A woman identified as Awuni Princess Tindan took to Facebook to share what she alleged were the underlying issues that led to the couple’s split. Although the post has since been deleted, it has already gained traction and fueled conversations online.
According to her, tensions in the marriage began after the couple travelled to Canada for a vacation, which she claimed was fully financed by Afua Asantewaa.
Princess Awuni alleged that during the trip, Kofi Owusu Aduonum expressed his desire not to return to Ghana, despite repeated pleas from his wife.

She further claimed that Afua later returned to Ghana to prepare arrangements for their children to join them abroad. However, during the process of applying for permanent residency, she allegedly discovered that her husband had sought asylum in Canada as a single man.
The friend also suggested that Afua had endured significant hardship in the marriage, adding that many people might not fully understand her experience.
She argued that public perception may have been skewed by Afua’s outspoken personality, leading some to unfairly place blame on her.
As of now, neither Afua Asantewaa nor Kofi Owusu Aduonum has publicly addressed these specific allegations.
However, Afua recently confirmed that the couple is separated but not divorced, noting that she is currently focused on healing.
