Black Stars are set to hold a second training session as they continue their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar this weekend.
The team conducted their first training on Monday, with the participation of 22 players, with Thomas Partey, Gideon Mensah, and Hafiz Konkoni absent from the session for various reasons.
Partey had not reported to the training camp, while Mensah was excused due to a minor injury, and Konkoni was unable to participate as he had played a match for Bechem United on Sunday.
On the other hand, the remaining players, including captain Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, and Kamaldeen Sulemana, displayed sharpness during the training session, which lasted for over an hour.
Fortunately, Partey has now reported to the camp, and it is expected that Mensah and Konkoni will be available for Tuesday afternoon’s training session.
Chris Hughton will closely monitor the players’ performance to determine the starting lineup for the crucial game at Mahamasina Municipal Stadium in Antananarivo on Sunday.
Black Stars are well aware that a victory in this match would secure their qualification for the 2023 tournament, which is scheduled to be hosted by Ivory Coast early next year.
