The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, was involved in a road accident in the early hours of Thursday, February 19, 2026, while returning to Accra from Tamale.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. at Pai-Katanga in the Oti Region.
Sources close to the palace say the Ga Mantse had travelled to the Northern Region on a private visit at the invitation of the Yaa Naa.
The visit was described as cordial and formed part of ongoing efforts by traditional leaders to strengthen unity and mutual respect among Ghana’s revered traditional institutions.
On his return journey to Accra, the vehicle carrying the Ga Mantse was involved in a crash. Fortunately, the King escaped serious injury and is reported to be in stable condition, remaining in good spirits as he recovers.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service responded promptly to the scene after being alerted.
