Asante Kotoko Brazilian midfielder, Fabio Dos Santos Gama, says his primary aim for joining the Porcupine Warriors is to win the Ghana Premier League (GPL) and CAF Champions League titles.
The 28-year-old midfielder joined the 23-time GPL winners on a two-year deal back in October and only arrived in Ghana this Monday from his home country, Brazil.
The former Jönköpings Södra IF midfielder conceded he is not fit at the moment, but he’s determined to leave his mark with the two-time CAF Champions League winners at the end of his tenure.
He stated he’d start with less than 30 minutes of playing time but would gradually pick up along the line.
“I’m being frank, I want to be a champion here, I didn’t come here just to play but to be a champion—to win the domestic league and the CAF Champions League with Asante Kotoko, ” he told Connect FM.
“I will train individually for now because I’m not 100% fit yet, but as soon as I get ready, then I will start training with the team.
“I can play like 15, 20, 30 minutes in the meantime and hope to be fit to help my teammates get a great season.”
Gama started training officially today at the Adako Jachie for the first time since arriving in Kumasi yesterday.
Asante Kotoko kick-started their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season with a 1-1 draw against Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday and will play Berekum Chelsea away this weekend.
