In a move to deepen public understanding of audit reports, the Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Professor Amin Alhassan, has met with the Auditor General, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu, to discuss a new partnership between the two institutions.

Professor Alhassan stated the collaboration aims to educate Ghanaians on the content and meaning of reports published by the Audit Service, citing a recent misunderstanding, and calls for the resignation of the auditor general by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), University of Ghana branch which undermine it’s work.

As part of the initiative, both institutions agreed to form a joint technical team which will explore effective mediums through which the public can be educated using GBC’s platforms.

The Auditor General praised the idea and welcomed the collaboration, describing it as a timely step toward improving transparency and accountability. He also assured Professor Alhassan that the Audit Service will submit the names of its technical team members by early next week.

This partnership is expected to help bridge the gap between complex audit language and the everyday understanding of the Ghanaian public.
