The month of March is observed by the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) every year as ‘Heritage Month’. The launch of this year’s heritage month takes place at the forecourt of the GBC tomorrow, 1st March, 2023.
It is a month where Ghanaians are encouraged to project and promote the culture, tradition and the Ghanaian legacy through music, dance, fashion among others. The theme for this year is ‘Our Heritage, Values and Identity’.
It was chosen based on the need to inculcate and reinforce in the youth, especially the heritage won for the nation over the years, and appreciate the values that identify us as uniquely Ghanaian, with diverse ethnic backgrounds and culture.
Side attraction include sampling of local snacks and drinks, exhibition of fashion, arts, crafts and more. There will be traditional games and cultural performances.
There will also be a heritage village, which will be a one-stop location that offers patrons the opportunity to have the best of Ghanaian culture and tradition through music, dance and food.
