The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has confirmed that a microlight aircraft crashed in Tema on Monday while flying from Ho to Accra.
In a statement issued on March 16, the regulator said the aircraft, registered 9G-ADV, was expected to arrive in Accra at 1520 Zulu time (GMT). However, the last radio contact with the aircraft occurred at 1418 Z, shortly before the incident.
The authority said two persons were on board the aircraft at the time of the crash.
The GCAA did not immediately disclose the circumstances surrounding the crash or the condition of the occupants.
“Further details will be provided in due course,” the authority said in the statement.
