The race for supremacy in the University of Ghana Corporate Football League (Group A) is intensifying after Match Week 6, with Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) holding firm at the summit of the table.

GCAA remain unbeaten after six matches, recording four wins and two draws to accumulate 14 points. Their dominance is underlined by an impressive goal difference of +12, having scored 14 goals while conceding just twice making them one of the most defensively solid sides in the competition.

Hot on their heels is Ghana Armed Forces Officers Sports Club (GAFOSC), who sit second with 12 points. Also unbeaten, GAFOSC have been particularly formidable in attack, netting 15 goals, the highest in the group, while boasting the best defensive record with only one goal conceded so far.

In third place, Ghana Football Association (GFA) remain firmly in contention with 11 points. Their balanced performance (3 wins, 2 draws, and 1 loss) keeps them within touching distance of the leaders as the competition progresses.

The mid-table battle is equally competitive. Lancaster and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) are tied on 10 points each, occupying fourth and fifth positions respectively. Lancasters strong defensive showing, conceding just four goals, gives them a slight edge in goal difference.

Further down, GOIL PLC and UG are locked on 7 points. While GOIL PLC have drawn four matches, the most in the group, University of Ghana (UG) will be looking to improve consistency after suffering three defeats.

At the lower end of the standings, Bui Power sits at the eighthposition with 6 points, still within reach of the mid-table pack. However, the situation looks more concerning for Stanbic Bank and GIMPA, who occupy ninth and tenth positions respectively. Both teams are yet to register a win, with GIMPA enduring a particularly difficult campaign, conceding 18 goals in six matches.

With the competition nearing its crucial stages, the battle for top position remains wide open, while the fight to avoid finishing at the bottom is just as intense. All eyes will now turn to the upcoming fixtures, where every point could prove decisive in shaping the final standings.
