British media personality Gemma Atkinson has revealed that she was once offered a substantial sum of money to speak negatively about Cristiano Ronaldo following the end of their brief romance in 2007.

Speaking to Key 103 Radio, as reported by Transfer News Live, Atkinson said she declined the offer because she had nothing bad to say about the Portuguese football star.

“When we broke up, I was offered a lot of money to speak badly about him, and I didn’t want it because I had nothing negative to say about him, so I see no reason to speak ill of him,” she stated.

Atkinson and Ronaldo, both now 41, sparked headlines nearly two decades ago when they were spotted together during Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United. However, their relationship was short-lived, and they parted ways in October 2007.

Since then, Atkinson has moved on and is now married to professional dancer Gorka Marquez. The couple shares two children — Mia, six, and Thiago, three.

Ronaldo, on the other hand, is engaged to Georgina Rodríguez. The pair share daughters Alana and Bella together and welcomed twins Eva Maria and Mateo via surrogacy. Bella had a twin brother, Angel, who sadly passed away shortly after birth. Ronaldo also has an older son, Cristiano Jr., from a previous relationship.

Rodríguez and Ronaldo first met in 2016 when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid — a chance encounter that would later blossom into a long-term relationship.

Atkinson’s recent comments shed light on the pressures public figures often face after high-profile relationships, highlighting her decision to maintain discretion despite financial incentives.
