European and German giants Borussia Dortmund has launched their first football academy in Africa, based in Ghana.

Developed in partnership with Accra Shooting Stars, the academy aims to train boys and girls aged 6 to 18 using Dortmund’s proven youth development model.

The program combines football training with education, leadership, and other positive character-building values.

At the launch event, former Borussia Dortmund midfielder and Black Stars legend, Ibrahim Tanko, was named the academy’s ambassador.

He emphasized that the initiative will foster not only technical skills but also the mindset and discipline necessary for success at the highest level.
