Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has expressed confidence that Marvin Senaya will represent Ghana despite the defender also being named in Togos squad for the same international window.Senaya, who plays for AJ Auxerre, has been included in Ghanas squad for upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany later this month. At the same time, Togo have also called him up for their matches against Guinea and Niger. The dual call-up has created uncertainty over which country the 25-year-old right-back will represent.Speaking on the situation, Asante Twum insisted the FA had secured the players commitment before naming him in the squad.Without a players word, I think it will be unprofessional to announce a squad when the player hasnt agreed, when the club hasnt agreed. There is that assurance that he would make it, he said on TV3.He added that discussions between the FA and the player have been ongoing for some time. The FA has been engaging him a number of times. Weve had conversations with him over a long period of time, and he has accepted to play for us, he stated.Senaya, who has Ghanaian roots and is also eligible for Togo through his father Yao Mawuko Senaya, is yet to make a senior international appearance. His final decision during this international window could determine his long-term international future.
