The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic death of Dominic Frimpong of Berekum Chelsea. 

Frimpong reportedly lost his life after an armed robbery attack on the team while returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture, an incident that has sent shockwaves across the country’s football community.

In an official statement, the GFA extended its heartfelt condolences to the player’s family, teammates, technical staff, and management of Berekum Chelsea, describing the loss as devastating. The Association noted that Frimpong was a promising young talent whose passion and dedication reflected the spirit of Ghana football.

The GFA also confirmed it is in close contact with the club and the Ghana Police Service as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the attack. It urged authorities to ensure justice is served.

Additionally, the Association revealed plans to engage key stakeholders to review and strengthen security arrangements for clubs traveling for domestic competitions.

The GFA has called on the football fraternity to unite in support of the bereaved family and Berekum Chelsea during this difficult time.
