The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced plans to collaborate with the Ghana Police Service to construct a modern community football pitch at the Police Depot School in Tesano, aimed at boosting grassroots development and expanding opportunities for young players. The initiative was confirmed during a courtesy visit by GFA President Okraku to Inspector-General of Police COP Christian Tetteh Yohunu at the Police Headquarters in Accra on Thursday.Okraku described the project as part of the FAs Power to the Youth programme, positioning the Tesano facility as a flagship intervention to upgrade infrastructure and nurture emerging talent. He stressed the need for stronger coordination between football authorities and security agencies, noting that sports policing is distinctively different from ordinary policing because of the emotional intensity and crowd management demands associated with the game. The GFA President also called for firm action against match manipulation and illegal betting, urging law enforcement to help identify and eliminate faceless cowards who threaten footballs integrity.COP Yohunu welcomed the initiative and assured the Police Services full support, saying enhanced security and collaboration would help create a safer and more professionally managed football environment.
