GFA to launch nationwide U-15 Girls Colts League in 2025/26 season

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has announced the introduction of a nationwide U-15 Girls Colts League for the 2025/26 season. The initiative was unveiled during the 31st Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.The league, which will be rolled out across all Regional Football Associations (RFAs), aims to nurture young female talent and strengthen the foundations of womens football in the country. To support its implementation, the GFA will provide a total of GHS80,000 in financial assistance to the RFAs.Each regional league will feature eight clubs, creating a structured and competitive platform for young players to hone their skills, gain match experience, and progress into higher levels of the womens game.This is part of our long-term vision to build a robust player development pathway for female footballers in Ghana, Okraku said, reaffirming the FAs commitment to grassroots development.The initiative forms part of the GFAs wider strategy to promote inclusivity, broaden participation, and invest in youth football as a key driver of future national team success.
