A man identified as Benjamin Afedzie has been arrested by police after he was found in possession of a powdered human skull and several animal parts while travelling on a commercial bus in the Ashanti Region.
According to reports, the suspect was intercepted at Kwamang 50-50 when security officers stopped and searched a sprinter bus travelling from Kumasi to Boamang.
During the search, officers examined the belongings of passengers and reportedly discovered suspicious items in Benjamin Afedzie’s luggage.
Police say the search uncovered a powdery substance believed to be a human skull that had been pounded into powder.

Officers also found a food flask containing what appeared to be a fresh heart, two fresh eyeballs, and a bottle filled with fresh blood.
The discovery caused alarm among officers and passengers on board the vehicle.
During interrogation, Benjamin Afedzie allegedly admitted that the powdery substance was indeed a ground human skull.
He reportedly told investigators that the heart found in the flask belonged to a pig, while the eyeballs and blood were from a dog.
According to the suspect, the items were being transported to a mallam in Boamang who was expected to use them to prepare a remedy to treat him for a heart condition.
