A married man identified as David Acheampong has sparked controversy on the local digital space for impregnating his wife’s younger sister, Okyere Sophia, in Accra.
The incident was brought to light during an appearance on Sompa Nkomo, a programme hosted by media personality Oheneni Adazoa, where individuals share and seek advice on personal and family matters.
Speaking on the programme, David Acheampong admitted to his actions and apologised, describing the situation as a mistake.
According to him, he had not been intimate with his wife for about three months, which he claimed contributed to his poor decision.
“For three months, my wife hasn’t slept with me, so it was just a mistake. I apologise and regret my actions. Please, I will go and beg her,” he said.
He also admitted that due to the shame surrounding the incident, he initially suggested that Sophia terminate the pregnancy.
“Because of the disgrace, I even wanted Sophia to abort the baby. I ask for your help,” he added.
However, Okyere Sophia narrated a troubling account of events during the same programme. She claimed that her brother-in-law had made repeated advances toward her in the past, which she rejected.

According to her, he sometimes referred to her as his “junior wife,” but would stop whenever she threatened to report his behaviour to her sister.
Sophia recounted that the situation escalated one day when her sister was not at home.
“After I finished bathing and was wrapped in a towel, he entered my room without knocking,” she said.
She alleged that a struggle ensued before he forced himself on her. Sophia said she threatened to report the incident to her sister, but Acheampong allegedly offered her money to remain silent.
Sophia said she later discovered she was pregnant about two months after the incident when Acheampong took her to the hospital.
Despite his suggestion that she terminate the pregnancy, she refused.
“I told him I couldn’t abort the pregnancy. I love my sister and don’t want to destroy her marriage, which is why I came here for advice on the next step,” she explained.
The revelation has sparked strong reactions from listeners and social media users, with many expressing concern about the allegations and the impact the situation could have on the family involved.
