The Ghana Culture Forum, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority, has announced the staging of Ghana Culture Week 2026.
The two-day event, scheduled for Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14, 2026, will take place at the National Theatre of Ghana in Accra.
This year’s theme, “Resetting Ghana’s Culture and Creative Ecosystem,” signals a renewed focus on strengthening the country’s creative industries, cultural institutions and heritage promotion strategies.
Organisers say the programme aims to bring together policymakers, creatives, traditional leaders, students and industry stakeholders to deliberate on reforms needed to reposition Ghana’s cultural sector for growth and global competitiveness.
The President of Ghana is expected to preside over the event, with distinguished traditional and cultural figures serving as special guests.
The programme will feature high-level discussions, exhibitions and performances designed to showcase Ghana’s diverse artistic and cultural expressions.
Among the highlights will be the Emporium and Courtyard of Expressions, offering a platform for artists and creative entrepreneurs to display their works.
An inter-schools debate competition will also form part of the activities, engaging young people in conversations about culture, identity and innovation.
Organisers say Ghana Culture Week 2026 is intended not only as a celebration of heritage but as a strategic dialogue on how to modernise and sustain the country’s creative ecosystem in a rapidly evolving global environment.
