Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed that Tariq Lamptey will miss their opening game of the Premier League against Everton.

The Seagulls will be hosted at Goodison Park on Saturday by Sean Dyche’s side.

However, speaking to the club website ahead of the game this weekend, the German gaffer confirmed that Lamptey together with Pervis Estupinan and Evan Ferguson are all back in training but will miss the game.

“It’s great news, but I’m not sure if they’re ready for the first match,” the former FC St. Pauli coach said.

Lamptey is expected to play a key role for Hurzeler this season after being sidelined with injuries under Roberto De Zerbi last campaign.

The Ghana international made 19 appearances in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Tariq Lamptey is expected to be fit for Ghana’s opening two games of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger next month.
