The Esports Federation of Ghana, led by President Mr. Igor Boumekpo, paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, on May 21, 2025.
The purpose of the visit was to congratulate him on his recent appointment and to strengthen ties between the federation and the national sports body.
During the meeting, officials from the Esports Federation discussed potential areas of collaboration with the NSA, emphasizing the importance of standardizing and supporting the growth of Esports across Ghana. The federation expressed its commitment to developing the sector and aligning it with national sports development strategies.

The Esports Federation presented a range of ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting competitive gaming and fostering young talent. Both parties discussed opportunities for mutual growth, with the federation seeking to leverage the support of the NSA to expand its reach and impact.

Recognized by the NSA, the federation aims to work closely with the authorities to integrate Esports into Ghana’s broader sports landscape. The collaboration is seen as a significant step toward elevating Esports as a legitimate and recognized sport in the country.

Both the NSA and the Esports Federation expressed enthusiasm for the potential partnership, highlighting the benefits it could bring to Ghana’s sports scene. The joint effort is expected to create new opportunities for gamers and contribute to the diversification of sports in Ghana.
