The University of Ghana Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic and Students Affairs) Professor Gordon Awandare, believes this year’s Ghana FA Cup final between Nsoatreman and Bofoakwa Tano is unique.
He said this is because the two Bono team competing are not household names, making it more interesting.
Awandere made these remarks when the Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku led a contingent to make a trophy presentation at the University of Ghana on Thursday.
“The FA Cup is a very prestigious competition and one with very rich history. What is even more unique about this year’s final is that we have two teams that are generally not considered giants in Ghana football contesting for the prestigious trophy.
“This truly demonstrates the value of excellence. It shows these two teams have reached this level through hard work and commitment and it is within the same spirit that the University of Ghana operates.”
The MTN FA Cup final will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, June 23. Bono rivals Nsoatreman FC and Bofoakwa Tano will compete for the title.
