The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commenced an on-site training program for its elite academy scouts, subsequent to the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) Knowledge Exchange Program held recently in Ghana.
This initiative comes after Ghana received FIFA’s approval to train scouts for talent identification across the nation.
The Scouts’ training started with an on-line training program that tackled the aspect of elements that Scouts should look for when scouting talents and assessing potential in young football players.
Having had a successful on-line training, the Scouts will next have in-person interactions with FIFA, CAF and GFA certified Scouts trainers.
The Training Program will be led by FIFA’s Scout expert Laban Scott Libby and CAF Elite Scouts Trainer Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, GFA Elite Academy Manager Joseph Tetteh-Zutah and GFA Head of Talent Identification Papa Nii Lartey.
The on-site training is scheduled to be held on Wednesday July 10 & Thursday July 11, 2024 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.
Twenty eight (28) scouts from the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Upper West and Northern Football Regions are expected to attend the training.
