Ghana is gearing up for the CAF African Schools Football Championship WAFU-B Qualifiers in both boys and girls categories.The qualifiers scheduled to take place from 29th November to 4th December 2025 in Ouagadougou, will feature several football heavyweights in West Africa, including Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Niger and hosts Burkina Faso.Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the championship brings together the finest young football talents from schools across West Africa to compete for a coveted place in the continental finals.This years edition will be the fourth in the series, following successful events in Cote dIvoire, Togo, and Niger. The Zonal Phase serves as a qualifier for the Continental Phase of the championship, where the best-performing schools from each zone compete for continental honours.Ghana heads into this years qualifiers with confidence, having enjoyed remarkable success in the previous edition. The Ghanaian teams were crowned WAFU-B zonal champions, before going on to shine on the continental stage, with the girls team winning the main tournament hosted at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, while the boys team secured third place.With preparations underway, expectations are high that Ghana will once again demonstrate its pedigree in youth football and secure qualification for the continental finals.The CAF African Schools Football Championship is part of CAFs wider commitment to promoting grassroots football development across Africa.
