The Ghana Police has communicated via their official Facebook page that they have arrested a Nigerian lady captured in a viral video wearing a police uniform. The communique was captioned “Police arrest Nigerian national seen in viral videos wearing police uniforms”.

According to the Ghana Police, “The IGP’s special cyber vetting and enforcement team (CVET) of the Ghana police intercepted viral videos of a female, identified as Esther Obasi, a Nigerian national dressed in official Ghana police camouflage and standard black police uniform”.

The communique continued that “The videos raised public outrage and concerns regarding the unauthorized use and abuse of police uniforms and impersonation”.

Speaking on how the lady in focus was arrested, the Ghana Police noted that “Investigations by the team tracked the suspect to Prestea area in the Western Region of Ghana, leading to her arrest”.

They stated in furtherance that “The Police officer whose uniform was used was also identified and would be dealt with internally”.
