The Ghana Police Service has said that it is mourning the passing of the three officers who died in an accident at Kyekyewere in the Eastern Region.
According to the Service, it is saddened by the tragic incident.
“With a heavy heart, the Ghana Police Service mourns three of our gallant officers who lost their lives in a fatal accident today at Kyekyewere along the Accra – Kumasi Highway while on their way for Police operational duties,” a statement posted on Facebook reads.

The deceased who were in a branded Formed Police Unit (FPU) vehicle are said to be among a Police convoy deployed on Wednesday to the Kwahu enclave for the four days National Paragliding Festival expected to start on Friday.
Eyewitness said the vehicle after skidding off the Accra-Kumasi highway and summersaulting, plunged into a nearby bush. The doors of the FPU vehicle involved in the accident got detached and the windscreen cracked beyond recognition.
The Police Service announced that, “In line with Ghanaian tradition and the Ghana Police Service Regulations, full details will be communicated after the bereaved families are formally informed.
