The Ghana Statistical Service has teamed up with the Embassy of Denmark and other Development Partners, to host an engaging meeting with 13 institutions as part of the National Statistical System to harmonise data governance.
The focus is part of moves to make the National Data Strategy and the new National Strategy respond to the Development of Statistics and that “they speak to each other”.
Patricia Adusei-Poku, Executive Director of the Data Protection Commission, shared how the Data Strategy provide a framework for protection and processing of high quality data.
Prof. Samuel Anim, the Government Statistician, highlighted the timeliness of this conversation, stressing the need for collaboration to avoid duplication of efforts and to build synergy between both strategies.
While Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, Deputy Clerk at the Parliament of Ghana, highlighted the work of Parliament in harmonisation of such strategies.
The partnership concluded on the need to collaborate and avoid duplication through promotion of good data governance, sharing, and collaboration.
