Ghanas U-15 boys’ team secured a bronze medal after staging a comeback to defeat Uganda 2-1 in the third-place playoff of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC).
Under the guidance of coach Kwaku Danso, the team rallied from a goal down to earn their spot on the podium at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Uganda, who had fallen to Senegal in the semifinals on Friday, April 25, started strongly and broke through Ghanas defense early, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.
However, Ghana responded in the second half with two crucial goals, turning the game around to deliver the country’s first-ever medal in the competitions history.
This marks Ghana’s debut appearance at the ASFC, having missed out on the previous two editions.
