Ghana’s U-15 boys team have been knocked out of the semi-finals of the CAF African Schools Football Championship after a narrow 1-0 defeat to defending champions Tanzania on Friday.

The decisive moment came early in the match, with Tanzania’s Sadam Hamis scoring the only goal to secure his side’s place in the final. Despite a spirited effort from the Ghanaian youngsters, they were unable to find an equalizer, ending their hopes of clinching the championship on home soil.

Ghana will now shift their focus to the third-place playoff, where they will face Uganda. The Ugandan side also missed out on a spot in the final after a heartbreaking penalty shootout loss to Senegal earlier in the day.

The match against Uganda presents an opportunity for Ghana to finish the tournament claiming the bronze medal.

The third-place encounter promises to be a competitive affair as both sides look to end their campaigns with a victory.

The final between Tanzania and Senegal is expected to come off on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
