English-born Ghanaian defender Sean Clare played a pivotal role in Leyton Orient’s 1-0 win against Reading in League One, securing an assist in the triumphant match.
The game, held at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, saw Clare start and play the full 90 minutes, with fellow Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei also featuring for Leyton Orient.
The visitors dominated in shots, despite Reading having more possession. The first significant chance came at the 22-minute mark when Galbraith fired high and wide after a failed clearance by Reading. Orient continued to press, with Happe heading over from inside the six-yard box shortly after.
The best opportunity of the opening quarter fell to Orient as the ball was cut back to Charlie Kelman inside the box, but Boyce-Clarke made an acrobatic save to tip the ball over the bar. The deadlock was finally broken in the 27th minute when a pass from Sean Clare found Charlie Kelman, whose low drive squirmed under Boyce-Clarke in The Royals’ goal.
Clare has now made five appearances in League One, contributing one assist to Leyton Orient’s campaign.
