Ghanaian forward Benjamin Acquah displayed his playmaking prowess by providing an assist during Helsingborg’s clash with Sandvikens IF in the Swedish Superettan.
However, despite his contribution, Helsingborg was unable to secure a victory, settling for a 2-2 draw in a fiercely contested match on Sunday.
The encounter marked the first meeting between the two teams, with both sides displaying determination from kick off. Acquah, who started the game and put in an impressive 76-minute shift, was instrumental in setting up Wilhelm Loeper’s opening goal for Helsingborg. Ervin Gigovic scored Helsingborg’s second goal in the 55th minute.
Despite Helsingborg enjoying more possession, Sandvikens IF managed to capitalize on their chances, with goals from John Junior Igbarumah and Emil Engqvist leveling the scoreline twice. Acquah’s efforts on the field were reflected in his overall performance throughout the match.
The draw leaves Helsingborg in 6th place on the league table, with 10 points accumulated from seven games in the 2024 Swedish Superettan season. Acquah, who has now played seven games and found has found the net once.
